These images are processed to identify books and are not stored permanently on our servers after processing is complete.

Google Books API
- Retrieves book metadata (titles, authors, descriptions, covers) based on ISBN or search queries
- We send ISBN numbers and search terms; no personal data is shared
Open Library API
- Retrieves book metadata as an alternative data source
- We send ISBN numbers and search terms; no personal data is shared
Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive basic profile information (email, name) as permitted by your settings.
Data Storage and Security
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Cloud Platform (Firebase). Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates data centers.
Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Encryption of data at rest
- Firebase Security Rules restricting data access to authenticated users
- Regular security assessments

- Library data: Retained until you delete individual items or your account
- ShelfScan images: Processed and deleted within 24 hours of scan completion

Access and Portability
You can view all your library data within the App. You can export your data at any time using the export feature.
Correction
You can edit your book information and account details directly in the App.
Deletion
You can:
- Delete individual books or shelves within the App
- Delete your entire account by submitting a data deletion request or contacting us at support@silentplanet.app
Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Marketing Communications
We do not send marketing emails. All communications are service-related (e.g., password reset, scan notifications).
Analytics Opt-Out
You can limit analytics collection through your device settings:

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
